Book a day keeps reality away

Like millions of people all around the world, I also love a good book. Who wouldn't want to feel the thrill of a brand new adventure hiding behind the colorful covers lined in the bookshelves of libraries and bookstores. Yeah, I'm oldschool, I actually still enjoy paper books!!

Have you smelled any books lately?.....DEVINE!! Go on than....smell them all!

No but seriously. I often wonder what people who don't read (there are a few of those I hear) do when their reality is too much to bear. I don't know about you, but I don't think I know any better way of forgetting the problems I have than to loose myself in a story. Plus many of the characters has it much worse! If that doesn't make you feel better I don't know what will.

Lately I even doubled the therapeutic power of reading by listenning to books while I make art. Best thing that ever happened to me.

Someone said that those who doesn't like to read haven't found the perfect book for them. That's so true. Sadly some people don't choose really good book as their pick. For example I have this friend (no it's not me, I can give you her address). I've known her since kindergarten and I know for a fact she's never read one single book! Until 50 shades came along! *sigh*

Seriously? That's the "masterpiece" you choose to read in history of ever? Not greatest books ever written like ANYTHING by Poe, Shakespeare, King or Kerouac (Ok that one may be just my opinion, but I love On the road). No siree!! 50 Shades it is.

Now I have to admit, I read them too and enjoyed it. But when you look closer at the writing, it's just bad. As one of my friends said - third grader could write it better. And I heard she's going to write a book on how to write a good book. Not my friend...E.L.James. Well...

This turned in quite a rant didn't it? Oh well. I'm sorry, I guess.

What is your opinion on this? Do you agree with me? Is it better that people are reading this kind of books or they shouldn't read at all. I'd like to know, what you think.
